The process for applying to option schools will be handled centrally through the APS Welcome Center. The application and instructions for the process are online at  https://www.apsva.us/school-options/elementary-school-choices/area-and-countywide-elementary/how-to-apply/.  For application assistance, please call the APS Welcome Center at 703-228-8000.

Applications for the 2020-21 Kindergarten – Grade 5 classes will be accepted Monday, February 3, 2020 – Monday, April 27, 2020 by 4:00 p.m. All parents, including parents of ATS VPI students and those who have a sibling entering kindergarten must complete the application process. The lottery will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. Families will be notified of their status through SchoolMint on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 after 4:00 p.m.

Information sessions are highly recommended, as this is your opportunity to visit classrooms, speak with the Principal and learn about our program. Individual tours are not available. 

Arlington Traditional School is located at 855 N. Edison Street, near the intersection of George Mason Drive and Wilson Boulevard behind McDonald’s. Enter the school through the main entrance on Edison Street. All other doors will be locked for security purposes. The information session begins promptly at the start time and runs approximately an hour and a half.
