As a teach, I enjoy getting to interact with my students each day and make a positive impact on their future My main objective I have when teaching is to create a safe and nurturing classroom environment for all my students. Students in my classroom will feel respected when expressing their ideas, trying new things, and thinking outside the box.
My teaching experience began in 1995 in Rock Hill, SC. I have taught in Arlington for three years, two at Abingdon Elementary and one here at ATS. Prior to Arlington, I taught in both North and South Carolina. I have my undergraduate and master’s degree from Winthrop University and I have my ESOL endorsement, something I completed this summer.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am the mother of two girls, 9 years and 5 years of age. We have a miniature Pincher who is almost 8 years old. When I have “me time”, I love to read, go for walks, and go to the movies. I love DD hot chocolate and M&Ms, especially caramel.
There are many books that I love to read to my class but my favorites are the Wayside School books. Books that make me laugh have always been great read aloud books because I love to hear my students laugh – it is my favorite sound!!
