In my role as a First grade teacher, I aim to create a safe and positive work environment where all students can learn and take risks. It is important for me that all of my students are happy, feel welcomed, and know that I care for and support them. My method of teaching is student-centered where students are encouraged to be autonomous and life-long learners. My hope and dream for my students is to help instill a love for reading and learning.
I have both my Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Florida, with a specialization in curriculum and instruction. I am also ESOL endorsed. I have teaching experience in Arlington, Loudoun, and Fairfax counties in Virginia, as well as in Florida and Georgia. Over the past 14 years I have taught Kindergarten, First, and Third grades.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy the outdoors and nature, in particular going on walks and visiting local parks.
