As Special Education Assistant, I assist teachers in the delivery of educational and behavioral interventions of Special Education students. I also assist Special Education students in general education classrooms so they can reach their educational goals. My goal as an Assistant is to continue being patient, flexible and supportive as much as I can.
I am from North Sudan. I earned my Bachelor degree in Economic & Social studies and a High Diploma in International Relations from the University of Khartoum. I immigrated to the United States in 1999. At Northern Virginia Community College I took a placement exam for English as a second language and completed all required classes then earned my Masters degree in IMBA from Stratford University, Falls church, Virginia.
I have been working with APS since 2014. I was at McKinley Elementary school for four years where I earned my award as the Assistant of the year (2017/2018).
I speak Arabic & English.
My three kids who are ATS stars play soccer, I enjoy watching and cheering for them. I am a big fan of Soccer sport. I grew up with ten siblings, nine of them are boy, six of the boys are soccer players.
I like to cook, bake and read.
I like to read about different subjects. My favorite subject is women role in general and my favorite book is “I am Malala” the story of the girl who stood up for education and was shot by an anti women’s education group.
